Electric Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Program

Mission

To train qualified human resources for the qualified intermediate staff needs of industry, private sector, and the public by using modern teaching techniques with an understanding of an investigative academic staff in order to reach the level of technological knowledge.

Vision

The vision of our program is to raise graduates who have theoretical and practical knowledge in their field, have the ability to produce innovative projects in their field and bring existing projects into production, can follow the innovations in technology, and have socio-economic awareness.

Degree to be Taken

Students who graduate from the department can work as intermediate staff in all public and private institutions related to electrical energy by taking the title of "Technician".

Admission Requirements

To be successful in the YKS exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Admission conditions for foreign students are announced on the university's website at the beginning of each academic year.

Upgrade

Candidates who successfully pass the associate degree (candidates Vertical Transfer ExamDGS) and transfer to 4-history undergraduate programs such as Electrical Engineering, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronic Communications Engineering, Physics, Electrical Education and Electronics, Control Engineering, Meteorology Engineering, Electrical-Electronics can be done.

Graduation Requirements

Students who successfully complete all 120 ECTS courses in the program and achieve a weighted grade point average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00 are entitled to graduate.

Employment Opportunities for Graduates

Students graduating from the program; can work in organizations that operate in the field of energy production and distribution in the sector, in companies that produce goods based on energy technology, or in organizations that provide maintenance and service services for all these technologies.

Apart from this, they can also be employed in energy-based environmental technology manufacturers or service providers in the relevant field.

Duties and Functioning of Department Quality Board

 

1) The board is appointed at the end of each academic year.

 

a) Improving the quality of education and training

 

b) The department board makes recommendations for the improvement of quality in research and development activities.

 

Suggestions are put on the agenda of the department board and discussed. Accepted suggestions are put into practice by the department.

 

2) The board, at the beginning of each academic year, the department quality board reviews past practices related to quality and presents to the department board the suggestions for measures for deviations in quality practices.

Planning is carried out within the framework of the “Regulation on Determination and Use of Academic Staff Norm Staffs in State Higher Education Institutions”.

It is possible to be assigned if the academic staff completes the legal processes for the training of academic staff at home and abroad for self-development.

Academic staff can attend the project and academic publication writing trainings given by the BAP unit.

Academic staff are encouraged to participate in scientific meetings and learning activities organized at home and abroad.

Counseling Services Offered to Students

Consultancy services are provided under 3 main headings. These

a) Course selection: During the course selection process, students contact their academic advisors and receive consultancy services.

b) Participation in exchange programs (Erasmus, Farabi, Mevlana etc.): Announcements are made to the students on the official website and on the department bulletin boards by the foreign relations coordinator every academic semester. From the moment they are entitled to learning mobility, the foreign relations department coordinator informs the students about the entire exchange process and the entire academic process is followed by the coordinator.

c) Internship: Our 2nd year students contact the department secretariat and obtain their optional internship files and benefit from internship opportunities.

Participation in Exchange Programs

Students who want to participate in exchange programs can apply to Erasmus, Farabi and Mevlana programs through the Foreign Relations Office.
